Message from the Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences World AIDS Day , December 1, 2025

On World AIDS Day, Dr. Mortazavi, Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, shared the following message to raise public awareness and emphasize the importance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

World AIDS Day reminds us of more than four decades of global efforts to confront one of the most pressing challenges to human health. Despite significant progress in prevention and treatment of HIV, barriers remain. Inequitable access to medical services, social stigma, and discrimination against those living with the virus continue to hinder effective control of the disease.

This day is not only a call to action in the field of health; it is also a movement for equality, solidarity, and the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals. True global health will be achieved only when no one, anywhere in the world, is left behind or deprived of appropriate medical care.

In line with this vision, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences is committed to using its strengths in education, research, and social responsibility to promote healthier lives for all and to reduce inequality in society.

This mission cannot be realized without strong international and domestic partnerships. Collaboration among countries, institutions, and scientific organizations is essential. Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences continues to strengthen its global engagement, prioritizing the advancement of scientific and academic cooperation in the fields of health and communicable diseases.
